Chris Davies, owner of the site, had a dream of creating a 7 1/4 inch gauge railway on the site of an old nursery. This became a reality with the initial help of Alan McDowell. Gradually the membership grew as the railway became known.

The 7 1/4 inch gauge track at Evergreens Miniature Railway has been extensively modified and enlarged over the past four years. Electrification of signals and points, modification of the steaming bays and the installation of a turntable linking the main line and the engine shed. There is a new station area, raised signal box and ticket office. We also have a continuous raised 5 inch gauge track with steaming bays and engine shed. At the present time the ground level 7 1/4 inch gauge track is being extended by a further 250 metres. The site is being landscaped and trees and shrubs planted.
